Argentine ants a very dominant and aggressive, social ant .which holds multiple queens and multiple sub colonies. Each worker ant is capable of delivering food and moisture to any sub colonies which makes them versatile.
They are dark brown or black in color 1/16 of inch in length single node. They dominate an area and consume most of the food source which drive other ants of the general are. Their diet consists of water source, glucose, carbohydrate and protein based food source which is often found item in your kitchen, bathrooms and laundry rooms. You will also find them eating the corpses of dead insects and rodents. They should not be harmful to people.
Southern Fire ants are Black and Red in color 2 nodes (pincher's) stinger on the tip of abdomen, similar eating habits as with Argentine ants. Anti social single nesting colony insects. Colony is underground approximately 1-3 feet away from a portal mound. Multiple mounds may be available for a single colony. They are capable of biting and stinging the prey releasing its venom (people with high allergic reactions to fire ants should seek immediate medical attention.)
Five things must be put into consideration when treating for ants.
1. Food (Any carbohydrate, glucose, or protein based food)
2. Water (Any moisture source in and around the property)
3. Harborage (All possible areas where they can hide and nest)
4. Path of travel (All possible areas considered primary travel pathways for ants.)
5. Point of entry (Identifying all possible entry points in and around the property).
